Was fehlt denn da?/ What´s missing here ? (Eng)

One picture is missing, do you remember which one ?
Whats missing here (pdf)

Type of game:
Card game

Usage in teaching foreign languages:
Training vocabulary of objects used in daily life, animals, buildings and means of transport
Training the memory
And as a quick “pick-me-up” game to activate a tired group inbetween two exercises

Level:
A1.1- A2.1

Group size:
2 or more players – the bigger the group, the more fun.
If there are more than 10 players, it is also possible to split up the group into two smaller ones

Duration:
5- 20 minutes

Contents of the game:
60 picture cards, multilingual instructions (German, English, French and Italian)

How does it work:
Mostly I put 8 cards on the table and the players have to remember well all pictures, after 30-50 seconds I collect and shuffle the cards and put all except one on the table. Who is the first one to remember the card and say the word correctly gets the card. The player with the most cards wins.

Our experiences:
If there are new words, we usually explain these only after having put the cards on the table.
Very rarely, and depending on the level of the group, we omit some of the more difficult and unusual words.

Our valuation:
+ it is a quick game that helps in memorising words and enhances concentration
+ small and easily portable
