What kind of game:
A game that demands quick reactions and invokes the senses hearing and sight

Use in teaching foreign languages:
If the target language has different plural endings, these can taught with this game (like “la finestra – le finestre”, “il treno – i treni”)

Group size: up to 4 players

More than one group possible ?
no, but 2 players can play in one team and change the slapstick after each sound

Time: 10 minutes for one round

Contents of the game:
4 slapsticks, 96 double-sided game cards, 1 electronic sound unit

What is it about:
All cards are placed on the table (you need some space for 96 cards) and each player takes a slapstick. Turn on the sound unit. When you hear a sound, try to slap one of the matching cards, e.g. they hear a barking dog and have to grab the card with the dog. The players can continue to grab cards until a new sound comes out of the unit.

Afterwards the speaking part starts: The players will explain what and how many cards they have caught, using the plural

Variations and our experience with the game:
The words to the pictures can be explained in the taget language before playing the game. The plural forms can be introduced and practised with this game.
